Privacy: the Simple Art app
This page covers the Simple Art guided-viewing app (by MasterAllArts) for iPhone and iPad. The masterallarts.com website, with its accounts and web Premium (paid through Stripe), is a separate service with its own privacy page.
The short version
Data Not Collected. The app does not ask you to sign in, does not track you, has no advertising, and does not run analytics. It does not collect your name, email, contacts, location, photos or microphone.
What the app downloads
To show a guided viewing, the app downloads artwork images, story scripts, narration audio, music and sound effects from our content server. These are ordinary file downloads, the same as loading a web page: your device's network address is necessarily part of each request. The app sends nothing else about you and we do not use these requests to identify or profile you.
What stays on your device
- Your settings, such as narration language, reduced motion, and music and sound effects on or off.
- A cache of downloaded content so stories play offline. You can clear it in Settings, and it is removed when you delete the app.
- Anything you draw in the Studio and practice exercises. It is not uploaded.
Daily reminder
The daily reminder is optional and off until you turn it on. It is a local notification: the app schedules it on your device, and no server sends it or knows that it exists. Turn it off in the app's Settings or in iPhone Settings → Notifications.
Home Screen widget
The widget only reads the day's painting, the same painting of the day the app shows everyone. It sends nothing about you.
Save to Photos
If you save a painting to your photo library, iOS asks for add-only access. The app can add the image you chose and nothing more: it never reads, browses or uploads your photo library.
Purchases
Simple Art Premium (monthly, yearly or a one-time lifetime unlock) is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple handles payment; we never see your card, name or Apple ID. The app asks the App Store on your device whether you have an active purchase, and that answer stays on your device. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple ID settings. Purchases are governed by Apple's standard licence agreement.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
